The media has a significant impact of the experience and outcomes of refugees. Unfortunately mainstream media rarely comments in a way that is useful or supportive for refugees, covering mainly disasters, and riots, and linking these communities with negative events, failing to cover the day to day experiences and struggles or positive stories from the refugee community. Refugees often feel invisible and abandoned, especially since they have been moved to isolated camps, and as months and years pass. You can help to maintain and generate awareness, donations and support, to promote community voices, and to create political policy change by sharing positive media articles, and Insights and updates by Filoxenia International. Lobbying your representatives to support refugees can also make a significant difference.
